Watson-Crick Wednesday Surf & Culture Report (DNA edition)

Lost Boys & Co...

Photo #1 doesn't quite do this morning's conditions justice.  First, you can see Jay standing there on the right, after having caught a sweet little left-hander from the middle all the way to where he's standing.  But we didn't get him on the wave😟.  Then, there's the wind.  It's blowing offshore at 5 to 7kts and the sea surface is brushed smooth.  This is making the already chilly 43.8º air even chillier.  The water is a lot warmer in contrast to the air, but it's not exactly balmy at 57.6º.  High tide was at 5:09am +5.7' and low tide will be at 12:16pm +0.2'.  We have a nice little west swell out of 271º at 3.3' and it was 2' to 3' with some brisk little corners to warm the cockles of your frigid heart...

But if you really wanted to be cold, you could've joined Danger Girl, LoLa and the Professor on their trek through the Big Apple.  Here (#2) the ladies are shown at Il Cortile Restaurante quaffing some Chianti and singing Christmas carols along with the brass band that decided to wander through.  Il Cortile is a good size restaurant, but let's be honest here, brass bands are outside instruments.  But what do you do when your lips stick to your tuba?  Guess you go inside and pour brandy on them...

Frankie Portugal (#3) haven't ran in to him since Lisbon in '16 with his famous "Pasteas de Nata."  He has crew of little old ladies who look like Portuguese versions of St. Mary See (note: we canonized her in '87) knocking these things out by the hundreds and selling them to the locals and tourists who are lucky enough to find them...  They are NOT tarts Frankie!

But we digress...  On to Boise and we promised the local standing wave crew (also NOT tarts) that they'd make it to the surf report when we got back.  From L. to R.:  Jillian the Portuguesa, Halle, Kayla, Sarah (demurely posing), the Professor, Abby and Ali-Babwa Guth.  Had the most delightful Christmas with the entire Burke crew...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
The Professor!!
