And So It Goes Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Now depending on which end of the bed you woke up on in the morning or how much tequila you had had the night before the wave painting was either upside down (#1) or right side up (#2).  This continued to be a question throughout the duration of the adventure...

Our condolences to Brendan Simmons and his family on the loss of his father.  We were shocked and saddened to hear that he had passed away after having surgery, that we had imagined would get him back in action.  Hug your loved ones people!

Hazy sun this morning with 15 miles visibility.  Winds were light offshore at 2 to 3kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was a bracing 48.8º and the water is trying at 59.2º.  High tide was at 8:11am +5.4' and plunges to a -0.6' at 3:05pm for you clam digging pleasure.  We are enjoying a WSW swell out of 240º at 3.9' and it was 3' to 5' and continues to be some of the best surf we've had in a while!

Not your average bride and groom, Morgan and Christian had a "Sand Ceremony" (#3) to commemorate the many beaches they've surfed.  Representatives from as far away as Spain and of course Hermosa Beach, brought vials of sand to be mixed by the couple in a show of unity, love and sandy toes everywhere.  Suzy and Joey provided the backup music and Kevin Sousa was the officiant.  If you ever have to get married you might consider asking Kevin to do the nuptials.  A beautiful ceremony, it was only enhanced by this flyover of local pelicans (#4)!  It was also interesting that every time a set would come through at the point the gathered surfers would all turn to the left and check it!  It looked like a tennis match...
