Best Day Ever Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Buck Delameter said it best and said it every morning of our surfari to Saladitas, "Best Day Ever!"  Just when you thought Monday was best along came Tuesday and so on...  The wedding was fabulous and there are too many photos of which we'll share only a few and the surf was fun and there are hardly any water photos because everyone was surfing.  If any of those surface we'll share them too!  Let's start out with a view from the "Delameter Balcony", BKD presiding (#1)

If that wasn't enough we came home to absolutely great surf in Hermosa!  It was 25º colder, but great shape and long rides!  Skies were clear and 20+ miles visibility.  Winds were 2 to 4kts offshore and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was 54.5º and the water is 58.3º and actually felt good on the bug bites.  Only one tide at 11am, low +0.8' and it helped the west swell out of 274º running at 3.3'.  It was a good 3' to 4' and some of the best form we've had all year...

Here's the Saladitas set-up (#2).  We were surfing Donny's Reef, so far to the south (left of photo) that you can't see it from this angle.  The amazing thing was that every day you'd get a few RIGHTS!  The size and swell angle made for some long rides both ways...

And here (#3) is the man himself, Capt. Don Congrejo.  A mentor in so many areas, here he demonstrates hammock therapy.  He's a genius...
