Further Testing Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Near the amber sands of Hermosa Beach (#1) Doc Scale was in the water conducting further testing on his new blade.  Nothing official, but we're thinking he liked it.  Easier catching waves, good glide, tracks well.  More testing to follow...

Kevin Gilligan just off the disabled list, charged the Pier left and looked like he'd never left.  Maybe the cool water helped, but whatever, he looked in shape.  Also congrats as he started his retirement this week!  Not going to let grass grow under his feet, but not the grind of the daily job...

Cloudy this morning with the sun trying to break through on occasion and 10 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 3 to 4kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 54.5º and the water is 58.6º.  Low tide was at 11:31am +0.4' and high tide follows at 5:58pm +2.9'.  A WSW swell out of 242º at 3.0' and it was 3' to 5' and that Pier left is still cranking.  The boogie boarders have taken to going out in the dark so they can get in their waves before the standup crew descends.  All kinds of stoke!
