Felicitous Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Damnation!  Another nice day!  We are going to pay for this - mark our words...  May will be gray, June will be gloom, July will be socked in, Fogust will lead to Septembrrr...  But it's bitchin' in February!  What did we do to deserve this...

25 miles visibility under those relentless clear skies.  Winds, of course, are perfectly offshore at 1.1kts and the sea surface is glassy.  The air temp was 46.1° at checkout and the water was 57.0°.  One tide that matters today, low at 10:50am +1.1'.  The buoy is hopeful about a west swell out of 261° at 3.0'.  The Avenues, Topaz and Sandyland were all shut out, but the Cove had some earlobe high waves at odd intervals.  Danger Boy, the Professor and a number of their closest friends got some sketchy ones and a couple of good shoulders as well.  In fact we saw Robert Stassi, Chris Bredesen, Riviera Waveriders Mike, John Witherspoon and Mr. Weedeater all catching some one-man events...  It can be done...

And at the propitious moment, the piggy emerged from the oven.  Here we have Jimmy doing the honors as the chow line kicks into high gear.  The skin was crisp and perfect...  Danger Boy and LoLa working the sides as they used Ché's '65 Montclair as the buffet table.  By the time everyone got there there were pupus all over the hood and on the left quarter panel.  Whaddya mean, "Did it taste good?"  F'n A!  Yeah it tasted good...  It was GREAT!

South Bay Surf League Finals in Hermosa on the south side of the Pier on Saturday the 12th.  Action starts at 7am...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
