Man-About-Town Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A couple of great shots from Sting Ginther, Sunday last week.  #1 is Rooster flashing along this Topaz zipper on his "Rooster Fish."  Like makes you want one right now.  #2 is Johnny Siskowik, hanging back and setting up for some tube exploration.  He's had a great winter and surfs Topaz as well as anyone.

Cold this morning, as the temps barely got above the 30's.  Visibility was 20 miles and there was some definite haze over the water.  The sky was partly cloudy, mostly sun.  Winds were variable out of the east 1 to 3kts and then changed straight out of the west about 11am.  The sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was officially 42.5°, although our outdoor sensor unit read 38.8.  The water was a brisk 55.9° and if it doesn't get any colder that will be fine with us.  High tide is at 6:17am +5.3' and low tide will be at 1:19pm -0.5'.  The buoy is reading a SSW swell out of 206° at 2.6'.  We're calling it 2' to a bit bigger, like 2½'.  Topaz had some fun little teasers, but you had to go fast and pay attention.  Come to think of it - that's always a good idea at Topaz...
