Well Done Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

You know how sometimes the water is ice-cold and the toilet seat is freezing?  This is taking it to the max with the entire bathroom made out of ice.  Don't worry, this wasn't the cabin (otherwise you can be sure LoLa and Rebecca wouldn't be mugging for the camera.)  It was part of the Ice Carnival they hold annually in McCall, Idaho.  Isn't Idaho a funny word!  Say it over and over...  Anyway, even though they're hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean, they managed to feature this whale of a sculpture as well!

Great conditions today!  Crystal blue skies after yesterday's rain and unlimited visibility.  Winds out of the SSE by 8.3kts and the sea surface was sporting a light tack.  The air was a bit chilly at 41.2° at checkout time, but the water was 58.8° making it not so bad.  High tide was at 6:49am +5.5' and low tide is this afternoon at 1:59pm -0.6'.  The #46221 Buoy is registering a 3.9' swell out of 266° W and we're calling it 4' to 5' at most of the beaches with some even bigger outsides about every 15 minutes.  Good shape and longer rides are making it a good call for the morning tomorrow.

Finally, even though Idaho (there's that word again!) doesn't have a helmet law, Anaconda Burke is in his bucket and making for town on his Vespa.  We tried to catch him and warn him about the icy conditions, but he was too fast for us!

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
