FIFA Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

You know how you're just buzzin' along and you see a sign and you really don't read the fine print and you just go into the office at the school and you just straight away ask what kinds of free drugs, alcohol, tobacco and weapons they have.  Because deep down you're thinking, "This is too good to be true," but on the other hand you're also thinking that it would be cool to have a shot of tequila, while smoking a Cuban and blasting away on some targets with blazing Colts.  You'd just get a couple of aspirins for later - you know - all the noise and whatever.  So we weren't that surprised when the school secretary explained it to us...  Okay, just a little disappointed...

Surf came up this morning despite the high-ish tide.  10 miles visibility under partly cloudy skies, with some nice patches of sun on the water.  Winds were light on all morning around 2 to 5kts with a light tack on the water.  The air temp was 60.1° and the water is 64.4°.  High tide is at 10:26am +3.8' and low tide will follow at 2:49pm +2.3'.  The buoy was reading a 3.6' swell out of 266° west, but the swell must be bouncing off the south from hurricane Celia and rolling right into Topaz Bay!  We're calling it 3' to 5' with some sturdy, fat outsides.

Then we have our second photo taken on the church lawn just a few blocks from the Burke's home in Eagle, Idaho.  It appears that the grass in the center of the rather expansive front greensward has grown in the shape of a cross!  We were astounded and called our friends at the Vatican to have them substantiate this miracle.  Turns out this is a protestant church and they don't substantiate protestant miracles.  They told us that the gardener probably cut the grass in that shape.  Kinda sounds a little like sour grapes to us...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
