Throw Me Off Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A couple of weeks ago we ran a sight that we thought would chill most Lost Boys to the core.  So what happens?  The next thing you know the Professor gets this little number, likewise chilling, in the mail.  Nothing like standing trial in front of a group of your peers who couldn't get out of jury duty...

Chilly overcast this morning, with 5 miles visibility.  Winds were onshore light to variable at 4.7kts.  The sea surface was sporting a light tack.  The air temp was 63.1° and the water is flirting with 60 at 59.7°.  Low tide is at 8:52am +0.7' and high tide will follow at 4:09pm +3.9'.  The buoy is reading a SSW swell out of 199° true, at 3.6'.  We're calling it 3' with some larger outsides and a bit lined up with the lowering tide.  Winds are mostly onshore for the next couple of days and then on the weekend it's supposed to turn around and blow off for a few days.  We like that idea a lot...

Ornithologists often amuse themselves by figuring out what birdies have for breakfast.  Audubon would have been proud of us for catching this Birdie eating some beef hash with eggs over medium.  Kinda cannibalistic, huh...

Re:  Lifeguard Tower Art
The following URL is to the info about Portraits of Hope project you are speaking of.
Pretty incredible. These children will have a sense of pride for participating in beautifying the So. Cal. communities.
You can find more on Kpcc.
