Back On The Mainland Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

You know how sometimes you've got a cold one and it's NOT a twist off top?  Boomfwappa got tired of the anxiety and just wrapped those choppers around the cap and "Boom-offa!"  Let happy hour begin...!

Okay, back in the Southland we arrived to sunny skies and 15 miles visibility with a bit of marine haze.  Winds are calm and the sea surface is glassy.  The air temperature at checkout was 60.6° and the water took yet another dip to 65.7° after we thought it might warm up...  (Of course it was 80+°s at Waikiki - suffa den...)  High tide is at 9:51am +4.5' and low tide will be this afternoon at 3:11pm +1.7'.  The current swell is coming at us from 206° SSW at 3.6'.  We're calling it 3' and pretty fun and clean.  We surfed this morning and everybody was saying how it had gotten cold again...

On Maui we dove of of Black Rock (We kept calling it "Black Wall" just to piss everyone off.)  Nothing like diving with 200 of your closest friends!  BUT, we swam out a bit farther and deeper and got some great views of the local inhabitants, like this black and yellow stripy fellow...

When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
