Another Truffled Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Today we have the top finishers in the Long Board Division of the So. Bay Surf League.  L to R:  Trevor LaShure, RUHS (4th), Josh Gilberts, ES (2nd), Daniel Clark, South (5th), Connor Beaty, RUHS (1st) and David Fillman, RUHS (3rd).  This was one of the two finals in which Redondo had three competitors.

So, in case you hadn't noticed, it was freeze ass cold this morning.  After blowing like hell all night long, it switched early and was off by 4.7kts at checkout.  The sea surface was surprisingly smooth and we had 20 miles visibility under clear skies.  The air temperature was 42.3° and the water was 55.9° (Donnie Souther is heading for Puerto Escondido this evening where the water is 82° or roughly twice as warm as our air!)  Low tide was at 8:01am +1.3' and high tide wasn't so high at 2:18pm +2.4'.  We had a rugged west swell out of 261° at 6.2'.  The surf was 3' to 6' and there were some crazy peaks, dredging into knee deep water most of the morning.  The Professor caught a left around the 615 sign and when he kicked out landed in knee deep water.  Just a little shallow...  Some great performances though, Nick and Steve Huante, were out along with Ché, Billy Mac, Sandy, and the Flying Date Brothers.  But when the wind changed - whoa - back to freeze-ass Alaska...  Warmer tomorrow!

We were walking down the street and we thought it was the Miloe's!  Certainly fashionable enough...
