Two Portagees Tuesday On A Washington B-Day Wewdnesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

George Washington's grandmother was Maria Fagundes Silveira, so George Washington was a quarter Portuguese.  He never made a big deal about it. We know because he had two divers at the ready when he threw the silver dollar across the Potomac in case he was short.  It wasn't actually a cherry tree, it was a stand of kale and he made soup out of it.  He was standing up in the friggin' boat Portagee style crossing the Delaware!

The Portagee boys are in town to celebrate George's b-day.  #1 has Paulo taking a celebratory spin...  We've been surfing and he and Marco are having a great time at the beach.  Oh yeah, Marco sends a shout out to all his buds out there who he hasn't had a chance to see yet!

A beautiful morning with 17 miles visibility under mostly clear skies.  Winds were offshore by 3.7kts and the sea surface was smooth to glassy in the corners.  The air temperature was 51.4° and the water was chillin' at 55.9° and yes, it can get colder...  High tide is at 9:08am +5.4' and low tide will be at 3:35pm -0.3'.  Our 46221 Buoy is reading a west swell out of 262° at 2.6' to 3.0'.  That sounds just about right and we cruised RAT this morning and got some nice long stretches.  Good at high to medium tides...

#2 features Ché, working on Sandy's Blue Topaz bat wing bullet.  It never fails, when Sandy has a new rocket being shaped it gets a lot of attention.  Made for even bigger days, it should be in the water soon...

#3 We have NO idea.  With DB it's hard to know if it's an old pic or a new one...
