Beach House On The Moon Monday Surf & culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Busy weekend out there!  Big waves, canceled Hennessey's Contest, Sand & Strand Race...  Photo #1 is the start.  They headed out from under the Hermosa Pier following the Lifeguard truck.  He had to jet to keep LoLa & Gidget from passing him up!  The triumphant, albeit a bit sandy, victors...

10 miles visibility at checkout with cloudy skies suggesting the possibility of rain.  Winds were calm and the sea surface was smooth with a slight roll.  The air temperature was 53.3° and the water was 58.8°.  Low tide was at 7:49am +0.8' and high tide was at 1:43pm +3.0'.  We had a west swell out of 269° running at 4.9'.  It was 3' to 5' and breaking shallow.  On our way back from the check we met Dono and he said that Tyler was out at Ave. B.  About three seconds later Tyler showed up with his 5'6" Wheatley in two pieces agreeing that it was a pretty damned low tide.  Then the wind started to blow and it's still blowing...  More in the am...

Another victim of the low tide was Hudson Ritchie, who took a shallow one on the head and neck at Sapphire.  Ché and Ben Fortune pulled him out of the water and he's been checked for head and neck injuries.  We last heard that he was sprained and bent, but looks like he'll be back in the lineup in no time...  Good on ya kid...
