The Long & Winding Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Not always easy getting up at O'dark-thirty and making it down to the beach.  Sometimes though, there's a bit of a reward for the effort.  Like this morning when the full moon was checking out the surf before it dipped into the water.  It just kinda hung there waiting for the propitious moment, then it just jumped in...  just like that...

When it got light enough to see, we had 20 miles visibility under cloudless skies.  Seems like all the storm activity passed without really dropping much rain on our pointed heads.  Winds were offshore by 2.2kts and the sea surface was smooth, although there was a bit of swirl and a touch of mal d' mer.  The air temperature was 51.3° and the water is advertised at 58.3° but feels a bit chillier.  High tide at 9:00am +6.0' and low tide is at 3:42pm -0.8'.  We have a WSW swell out of 251° at 4.9'.  Looking like almost too much south, but we're calling it 4' to 6' and walled, with occasional corners if you're patient...
Be patient...
