Walden Pond Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Looks like there are a few places to hide in this Hermosa outsider.  There's a cool little cave there...

Calling for rain today, but right now it's just clouding up and we have 12 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore at checkout by 3.5kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was a chilly 44.3° and the water is right around 57.0°.  Not bad for all that wind we had.  Low tide is at 10:51am +0.1' and high tide will be up and att'em at 5:41pm +3.0'  The buoy is reading a west swell out of 267° at 4.6', but we've got some bigger faces than that.  3' to 5' with a fair amount of sizzle.

Speaking of sizzle, photo #2 features a bit of carbonation.  When your down in the whitewater and it's foaming around your ears, it sounds like your Guinness going off.  After years of study, they have determined that the bubbles in a properly poured Guinness actually do go down.  This is no surprise to surfers or Guinness drinkers.  If you've gone over the falls, you've seen the bubbles chasing you all the way to the bottom, then they go up...
