Bay To Breakers Makeover Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

When you roll with Ché and LoLa you have to dress the part.  This was the 103rd running of the fabled race and our crew was a variety of super heroes, some not-so-well-known.  Photo #1 features LoLa, Suzanne. Ché, Letitia, Randy, Jessie and Darwin.

Interesting side-shore wind out of the SSE at 5.3kts brushing back the peaks and smoothing out the surface.  Partly cloudy skies and 10 miles visibility, even through the winds.  The air temperature is 60.5˚ and the water is 64.6˚ at the buoy and about the same on the beach.  Low tide was at 7:59am -0.5' and high tide was this afternoon at 2:54pm +3.5'.  We have a SSW swell out of 205˚ at 3.9'.  The surf was 3' to 4' and some very nice waves...

Photo #2 shows how crowded it was, unless of course you were standing next to this gent who was contemplating whether or not to put on his togs or race al fresco.  We only saw 15 or so folks running in the buff, but it always seems that you're trying to figure out what costume they're wearing until you realize they're not...
