Holy Week Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

This trip to southern Mexico we decided to concentrate on some of the cultural elements of this culture-rich country.  The artwork of Mexico is justly famous for those like Siquieros, Orozco , Diego Rivera, Frieda Khalo and Rufino Tamayo, but we we've been impressed with some of the street art we fortuitously encountered.  Like this mother-earth/tree-of-life depiction.  Done on a plaster wall it was brilliant in it's rendering...

Cloudy this morning and it's sure taking it's time getting light outside.  5 miles visibility when you could see.  Winds were onshore from the get-go at 3.7kts and there was a slight bump to the proceedings.  The air temperature was 57.0º and the water was 60.1º.  High tide was at 8:56am +5.1' and low tide will be at 3:21pm -0.1'.  We have a WSW swell out of 257º at 3.9' and it was 3' to almost 5' with a bit of warble...

Then there was this portrait on the side of a electrical distribution vault.  Kinda looks like she's watching the wire coming out of her head to the next pole.  The was something almost clown-like about the presentation and then there's those waves floating through the background.  Maybe a couple of artists piggy-backed on this piece...  If it's out there it's fair game...

Oh yeah, there were waves as well.  This wave let this guy in and then dropped him on his head.  Like, "Welcome to Puerto, now go into traction..."

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
