Thought You'd Never Ask Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A beautiful sunny morning here in Eagle, Idaho, just northwest of Boise on the Eagle River.  On our morning coffee trek we passed this fine old building with some great peeling plaster and brick substrate.  Can you imagine what a Mexican restaurant might pay for this effect?  Right here in Eagle, authentic and free!

So not so warm in the South bay this morning.  5 miles visibility under overcast hazy skies.  Winds are calm and the sea surface is glassy (maybe not a good thing...)  The air temp is 61.0° and the water is 66.7°, so jump right in and warm up.  High tide is at 10:26am +5.0' and low tide will follow at 3:58pm +0.9'.  The 46221 Buoy  is reading a 1.6' swell out of the SSW at 203°.  We're calling it a weak 1' and a good day for a long paddle.

Letters:

I'll be especially interested to hear the report for Patricks Point just north of Arcata and Trinidad California.  I almost lost my life there one big day years ago.  To this day I respect the ocean a lot more after that experience.  It can be a thrilling left hand point when its on.  Have fun on the trip.     -Tyrone James

(Consider it on our list of places to check out!   ...Ed.)

Is that you getting inked with that long-desired double exclamation point?

Big Wave Dave

(Come on Dave!  Everyone knows what a big chicken the Professor is.  There might not be enough tequila in Boise, to get him in that chair...  Then again maybe there is!!    ...Ed.)

Remember today is our last regularly scheduled report until the 28th.  Let's hope the surf picks up.  Right now there is a huge high pressure over the Pacific Northwest, so it doesn't look good for a while anyway.  But hey! Nothing changes like the weather.  We'd also like you to remember Danger Boy in your thoughts and prayers today.  He's got a "procedure" and he needs some good vibes!

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
