Fondant Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Here we have a shot of the Coach pointing out the very heavy layer of fog that moved through the beaches this morning.  It was thick, moved quickly through and was cold.  Kind of an odd day weather wise.

Currently visibility is 10 miles after the fog galloped away.  Winds are calm, but we can see some tack on the water out at the buoy, so expect things to get windy early.  Right now the sea surface is smooth.  The air temp is 65.8° and the water is 68.9°.  High tide is at 8:50am +5.3' and low tide will follow at 2:56pm +0.9'.  The buoy is reading a 2.0' swell out of the SSW at 207° and we're calling it 1' and very poor.  Let's hope things hop up a bit for the weekend.

(Re:  Travel plans:)

Went to Cabo Sun-Thur and hit it perfect. Everyday overhead.  Sound like the temp was about the same here...except for the fog on the beach.  No fog down there.   NO one is down there.  Deals on housing and air are to be had.  We should have done a Lost Boys trip there NOW.   Chris Miloe

(Re:  The Professor in the corn green room:)  Did you find Shoeless Joe Jackson in there?

(Re:  The tsunami:)
I am headed off to Fiji to the island of Namotu tomorrow and found out today the island was evacuated for the Tsunami but they did not sustain damage.  Unfortunately, the Salani Surf Resort did not fare so well on Samoa.  No one was surfing at that time from the camp.  They saw the water recede, reacted, grabbed their valuables and ran for higher ground.  10 minutes later the Resort was destroyed.  The people of Samoa need our prayers and support.

Did anyone go down to the beach last night and see the 1 ft Tsunami that made it here?     Chris Miloe   (We imagine that he left the next day, but we're awaiting word...  Ed.)

(Re:  Our review of the musical "Parade":)   Great review, Prof.  What were they thinking?  What's next, a musical about Hitler?   Paver   (Could this be why we're not reviewing plays for a living?   Ed.)
