Okay, it's only been 20 hours since it stopped raining. We know the Lifeguard Service and Danger Boy suggest 72 hours before it's safe to go in the water.
Barry Santos always told us that 48 hours was more than enough. Bunker Spreckles always though 24 hours was good enough for anything. Mike Purpus and Don Swift are in the water today and would've been yesterday, but Don had to work and Mike didn't wake up. Have you had your hepatitis shot? That might influence your decision...
Partly cloudy with 12 miles visibility. Winds were calm at the checkout and the sea surface was smooth. The air temp is 63.1° and the water is 65.5°. High tide is at 7:56am +5.7' and low tide will follow at 2:06pm +0.6'. The buoy is reading a 5.2' swell out of 245° (WSW) and we're calling it 4' to 6'. We snapped our photo of this lad at Topaz straightening out his legs to see if this wave was honestly overhead. It was and there some fine corners coming through to be ridden. Yesterday it was bigger and the wind stayed offshore all day long, but there are still some good ones left today. Check it out!
