Tanning Booth Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So you're standing on the edge of the dam at Hetch-Hetchy and you're looking over the shear drop and you notice this stairway running all the way down to the bottom.  All that stands between you and this adventure is a chain and - oh yeah - 17 flights of stairs.  We decided to hike to the waterfall instead...

A beautiful morning with 20 miles visibility and clear skies.  Winds were offshore by 1.9kts and the sea surface was smooth with a slight bit of tack.  The air temp was 63.3° and warmed quickly as the sun rose and the water is 67.1°, pretty warm for the middle of October.  High tide is at 10:26am +6.3' and low tide will be at 5:40pm -0.2'.  The buoy is reading a west swell out of 255° at 3.9' and we're calling it 3' to 4'.  Kinda fun early, with the tide making things a bit fat later on...

As I say danger everwhere. Saw your car at knob but no frank, mike was just getting ready to give it a go. Those lipomas help you to float. Next time come in the office and we will burn them off with a little nitrous.
(Ah, thanks but no thanks... Ed.)

From:  Buck  (we reported that he said he was Bob Larkin's favorite friend of the family)
Actually I didn't.  I said that Cynthia Delameter was Bob's Favorite Friend of the family.  I just introduced myself as some guy who grew up with the Larkin family.  I guess it didn't impress very many people because the two couples we were sitting with at the reception totally ignored me and continued their conversation about finance.  I did get some nice stock tips though.  Apparently I was supposed to buy Catapillar stock on Monday as soon as the market opened.  I wish I had.

(But you were Bob's favorite "Male Friend of the Family."  We misheard the folks next to you and bought a dozen caterpillars.  Nothing happened on Monday but we're expecting a dozen Monarch Butterflies in the spring...  Ed.)
