Munchausen Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Sorry to report a couple of passings this weekend.  Tony Maggio (TJ's father) and Didi Egnatuk's mother.  Our deepest sympathies go out to both their families.  Zoe Maggio sent us this note:

"I wanted to let our friends know that TJ's Dad, Tony Maggio, passed away last night (Saturday.)  He has been fighting cancer over the last 1 1/2 years and we are relieved he will be spared further pain.  I think most of you knew or met Tony and therefore know what a kind, generous and wonderful man he was.  He was an incredible dad, grandfather and husband who was loyal, genuine, and full of class and love all the way around.
We want to thank all of you who have offered your prayers and thoughts during this hard time for our family.
With love and appreciation for all of you~"

(We have no information on pending services, but when we get that info, we'll pass it along...  Ed.)

A rainy Monday here in the Southland.  Cloudy and close, with a steady rain, heavy at times.  Winds are offshore by 2.8kts and the sea surface is smooth.  The air temperature is 50.6° and the water is 60.4°.  Low tide is at 6:47am +2.6' and high tide will be at 12:31pm +5.0'.  We've got a SW swell out of 237° at 3.0'.  It's not working Redondo yet, so we have 1' to 2' surf and we're waiting for some of that storm surge.  On a cautionary note, the gutters are running pretty dark and there's a lot of crap (literally and figuratively) flowing to the sea.  Topaz and Sapphire were looking relatively clear, but as Danger Boy tells us, the really bad stuff doesn't necessarily make things murky.  Like always - it's up to you!

Also it is not the oldest living tree - ah no looking up. Just reply with the answer and I will let you know. Rwf. (Or the student)

Re:  GiGi (ATFYKTK)
  From:  Big Daddy
When did GiGi go from a need to know, to a kneed or knead to know?
(That happened when we were trying to concentrate on holding down the shift key and reciting the acronym aloud.  We are obviously acronymically challenged...  Ed.)

Re:  Joe's in Russia   From:  Lethal Keithal
OMG! I fond a Joe's in Russia I went to take a picture of it and my camera was taken from me by some old lady telling me they don't want it to get out that they have one. She told me she did not want it to get out because she did not want the lines to get any longer and its hard enough to get a seat inside. Boy things are the same all over the world and boy that's the truth.
Just wanted to say Hi to all of you back there and it must be nice being warm at home.  Its about 20 degrees outside out of the wind - in the wind well, I can't tell you - I am too chicken to find out!  Sorry. And by the way there's no surf today and it was the same yesterday on this base.  I hope all of you have DirecTV at home to make this trip worth the time I spend in this place.  Just give me a little more time to find a match and I will send this rocket up and you will have more HD channels then you know what to do with.
From Russia with love!

(We were glad to get Keithel's obviously uncensored noteLet's hope he finds a match soon and heads back safely to the land of surf and sunshine (Uhh, except for today...)  Ed.)

Finally, if you were imagining that, despite the rain, you'd run down to the beach and have some fun, take a look at the sign.  We don't want you to get in trouble with the law while getting your jollies!

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
 The Professor!!
