Tenacious Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

We hodged this photo of Mangiagli and José from the Easy Reader last week.  Matt Mohagan, who won the South Bay Big Wave Challenge, scored this rhino chaser as part of the swag.  Looks like it's got to be 10+'.

Beautiful spring day this.  Mostly sunny skies and 12 miles visibility.  Winds were variable, but predominantly offshore at 3.4kts.  The sea surface was smooth, except for some of the rebound off the jetty.  The air temperature was 52.1° and the water is hanging down in the 56.1° region.  Low tide is late at 11:54am +0.1' and high tide is even later at 6:45pm +3.9'.  Everything changes tomorrow, including your underwear.  The buoy tells us that we have a west swell out of 264° true at 3.9'.  Topaz and Sappharua like that kind of thing, so they ratcheted it up to 4' to 6' and bounced some nice ones off the rocks.  Great day.  Tommy Horrigan, is leading the pack in pieces of broken equipment this season.  The Professor has 3 and Tommy now has 4!  He broke the blue and yellow Herbie Fletcher in two roughly equal pieces, following last week's broken blade.  A testament to how hard the dropping tide was dredging the beach!

Photo #2 has Marco and the Professor bustin' some moves aprés ski in Brundage.  Marco looks suavé, while the Professor looks a bit like a recovering occupational therapy statistic.  The bibs don't help...

#3 features this happy couple just running back from the outhouse.  Obviously, if the seat wasn't freeze-ass cold before, it is now...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
 The Professor!!
