Bottom Of The Foodchain Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

You've seen a lot of hula dancers in your time.  Maybe hundreds.  Okay, maybe thousands.  But you've never seen a hula dancer this graceful or beautiful to boot.  On the raised area just west of Duke's statue, they had a review featuring a group from Waiinnae.  The singers were great, the musicians (this traditional trio) were fabulous and this gorgeous woman stole the show.

Crowded this morning, but there were some good waves on and off all morning.  Overcast skies and 10 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore at 3.4kts and the sea surface was smooth with some significant bounce off the jetty.  The air temperature was 61.7° and the water was 66.4°.  If it wanted to get warmer it could - it just doesn't want to...  Low tide is at 6:22am +1.9' and high tide will follow at 1:03pm +4.8'.  The buoy tells us that we have a swell out of 271° west at 3.9'.  Looked about 3' to 5' and good for some drops.

The Pheasant Plucker's tonight at Keegan's.  If you like classic rock 'n roll this will make you happy...

Note:  The report will be sporadic for the next week and a half.  We will include the buoy readings, but we'll leave out any editorial comments on the surf.  We'll be heading for Idaho and our semi-annual pilgrimage to the land where potatoes are king and French fries are a sacrament...
