Forked Tongue Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So, photo #1 is the Professor's great-granddaughter, Lily.  She's looking pretty happy in this pic because her great grandfather is not holding her or anywhere between her and her mother.  This has caused the Professor to wonder aloud why it is that most small children find him frightening in the extreme.  LoLa offered the observation that he looked, for all intents and purposes, like the devil.  So we looked through a bunch of file photos and yeah, he's got that look...  I.e. photo #2.

Sun's trying to break through as we send out the report, but it was overcast at checkout and about 7 miles visibility.  Winds were persistent out of the NW by 3.8kts and the sea surface had a light ripple going.  The air temp is 64.1° and the water is an unseasonal 65.7° and it's getting too late to imagine it's going to warm up for a big summer-like finish.  High tide is at 9:50am +4.5' and low tide will follow at 3:00pm +1.8'.  We've got a weak SW swell out of 215° at 2.6'.  Between Danger Boy being off today and Sandy's new board, it's a small wonder the surf is even 1' to 2'.  This could go on for a while, even though there was supposed to be surf this morning...

Tonight:  7pm Keegan's for Boomfwappa and Large Print Reading Group.  Goes until 10pm for all of those who need to get 8.  Like the guy said last night, "Hell, no matter what, I can't sleep in past 11 or noon..."   ✠

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
