Ten-Speed Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So, after we got some waves this morning we were caroming along the Esplanade and decided to check out things around Ave. I.  There was this guy just sitting there by himself taking a look.  We said "hi" and then when we actually looked at him, thought "Hey, is this Kalani Robb?  And if it is, what is he doing HERE?"  Finally, we just decided to ask and lo and behold it was him.  We asked him why he was in the So. Bay and it turns out he was doing a photo shoot.  Cool that he got some good waves and no doubt he made'm look better.  Since he had already grabbed some lens time we thought we'd ask him if we could take his pic so you wouldn't think we were just spinning a yarn.  He was so cool, he suggested we get someone to take both of us.  So, much aloha to Kalani and to the cool old gent who obliged us!

High clouds with 20 miles visibility and rain all gone.  Winds were chilly offshore by 2.7kts and the sea surface was smooth with a gentle wind swell roll.  The air temperature was 47.0° and the water was 57.7°.  High tide was at 9:21am +6.0' and low tide will be at 4:10pm -0.9'.  The buoy is reading a strong west swell out of 264° at 5.6'.  We're calling it 4' to 6' with some nice peaks on the higher tides...

Splashing a little color on one of the assembled photogs...
