Triskelion Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

It wasn't easy, but we found our way back from Laughlin.  One long weekend of dissipation, gambling and all manner of excesses.  We even had a chicken fried steak one morning!  The thing is, once they've got you there, it's not easy to leave.  If the previously listed temptations weren't enough, you're
surrounded by desert filled with nasty serpents like the one illustrated in photo #1.

Clear skies this morning with about 18 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 3.8kts and the sea surface was smooth to almost glassy.  The air temperature at checkout was a cool 51.5° and the water was south of refreshing at 57.9°.  Low tide was late at 11:02am +1.3' and high tide was even later at 5:57pm +2.6'.  Waiting for the next swell we currently have a short bump out of the west 261° at 2.3'.  It's translating to 1' to 2' and just a bit weak.  Things are supposed to get better almost immediately...  We're waiting...

One thing we loved about the Nevadians was their sense of humor.  They had tons of amusing signs designed to provoke your sense of humor.  Even their birds went out of the way to make you giggle.  Like this one character who marked this sign to let you know what he thought about it!

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
