Milk Of Magnesia Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Some consistent swells rumbling through in Hermosa this morning.  Watched a couple of guys battle the shorebreak and end up deposited on the beach wondering why it looked so easy to get out, yet here they were...  on the beach...  not out there surfing...

Clear skies and unlimited visibility, with a sharp wind blowing from 12 to 15kts out of the NNW.  The sea surface was choppy and getting choppier as the wind continued to build.  The air temperature was 52.2˚ and the water was 57.2˚.  Low tide was at 12:17pm -0.1' and high tide is late at 6:34pm -0.1'.  We're in for some big tidal changes this week, peaking on Friday with an 8.7" tidal swing.  Minus tides all this week in the afternoons.  The buoy is reading a west swell out of 261˚ at 5.6' and we have 5' to 6' surf at most spots.  If it weren't for the wind, it would probably be interesting at a few choice spots.  As it is, mañana, seems to be the top choice...

Oddly enough, even mild mannered laminators, like Oscar, have their moments.  He is shown here with a still-beating squeegee that he pulled from the chest of a client who thought that he saw some bubbles in his glass job...
