Theater-In-The-Round Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So we know that someone hid a box of See's candies somewhere in #11 on the 11th floor of the Topaz International Trump Tower Suites.  When there's no surf down below, it's really easy to get distracted...  So we mounted a thorough search and sure enough we found it.  But you know how cruel chocolate eaters can be.  It was empty.  Empty.  Okay, maybe just a few chocolate sprinkles, from the chocolate cremes.  Not even any papers or the blister pack divider between the levels.  Currently, there are no suspects (other than the usual suspects...)

For real rain.  Not that Southern California drizzlation-spitting "rain," but the real thing.  A short ½ mile visibility through the drops and a pretty low ceiling.  Winds were strong offshore at 8.9 to 13kts.  The sea surface was smooth, but a tad windswept.  The air temp was a wind chilled 56.1˚ and the water was 56.8˚.  High tide is at 7:09am +5.6' and low tide will follow at 2:20pm -0.5'.  We have a west swell out of 269˚ at 3.6' and depending on where you're looking it can be 1' to shoulder high.  Tyrone James sent this yesterday:  "Hey dude, Luke talked me into ditching my responsibilities this afternoon and go surfing with him at the Cove.  It was really nice, not very crowded and some nice sized sets.  Smooth and glassy.  I rarely surf there so I really enjoyed it..."  The tidal change will help some places, so don't give up too early...
