Stop Us If You've Heard This One Thursday Surf & Culture Report

 Lost Boys & Co...

First of all, we didn't take this photograph.  No, this is a shot from the Redondo Beach archives.  This is the master himself, George Freeth.  Who knows what he might have accomplished had he lived a couple of more decades.  Here he's shown sliding on a little left just a little north of Redondo Pier #1, back when our grandfather's were kids...

Another gorgeous clear day evidently the product of an over-roided chamber of commerce.  25+ miles visibility and nary a cloud in the sky.  Winds were calm at checkout and the sea surface was glassy to smooth.  The air temp was a cool 48.9˚ and the water was 56.3˚defying the sun to warm it up.  Low tide was at 7:04am +2.3' and high tide will follow at 12:25pm +3.8'.  We have a 3.0' swell out of 251˚WSW.  It's showing remarkably different at a variety of locations, from chest high to knee knockers.  Check out your spot.  Conditions should hold and no weather scheduled until Sunday...

We mentioned the old RB Pier #1.  There were three and here is there position, including some soundings of the canyon.  They actually had a locomotive go off the end of one of those puppies, so it kinda makes you wonder if there's any evidence of it down there.  It's not the Titanic, but it still would be cool to get a chunk of that...
