On The Waterline Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Hey, it's a kind of a fish...

Clear skies and 20+ miles visibility this morning.  Winds were offshore by 2.7kts and the sea surface was smoof (like the peanut butter.)  The air temperature was 49.3˚ and the water was 56.3˚.  High tide was at 10:33am +4.8' and low tide will be at 5:05pm +0.2'.  The buoy shows a west swell out of 272˚ at 3.0' and the surf was a consistent 3' to 4' and excellent contest waves at Hermosa Pier.  The finals are on Saturday starting at 7am!

Answers to yesterday's quiz...

Is the correct answer Sadao Watanabe?
Birdie
(Actually, no...  but that was a good guess!)

I dunno where she is, but that's definitely Julia!!  I wish she'd kept up with the sax!
Gidget
(Definitely Julia... we're getting warmer here!)

First of all, that's Boomfwappa behind the traps... Jim Campbell is holding the sax for Julia (Paine) Burke, at Cattleman's on the Redondo Beach Pier...  1976?
Boomfwappa
(Correcto-mundo!  Boomfwappa's memory hasn't faded a bit!  Our hint was Kincaid's now stands where Cattleman's was  before the Great Fire...  Ed.)
