Fumble Fingers Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

We know slightly more about football than we do about Lacrosse...  But the Superbowl is always special if for no other reason than the commercials...  So, here's to some great commercials and may the best product win...

Here we have our own personal hero Hugo Vau (#1) on the smallest wave we've ever seen him ride...  The last pic he shared, he was so far back and the wave was so big, that you could barely see him...  Nice to see him smiling and peace back at you brother!

This morning we had 10 miles visibility under hazy skies.  Winds were offshore, but it was still bumpy, like it has been all this week (see #2).  The air temp was 48.8 and the water is 60.3, getting up to 62/63 during the day.  Low tide was at 7:42am +2.2' and high tide follows at 12:53pm +3.1' with not a significant tidal differentiation.  We have a west swell out of 267º at 3.9' and it was 4' to 5' with some head-high outsides...

Last Wednesday the Redondo class was in the water and you can see some of the bumps that we've been complaining about (#2).  Today was marginally better, but it still had some residual sea sickness (#3).  Two things we liked about this random snap:  1. That golden sunrise light that floods the beach when the sun pops up.  2. The fact that this year's class has been going for the tubes.  This is Luke Snyder and along with Kade Kaufmann, Carlos Price-Gracida and Josh Auslin, they've gotten some pretty deep rides...

Happy hour at Greenbelt tonight at 5:30pm.  Always lots to talk about and share...  What you got?
