Just Put In The Tile Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

"I felt a tug on my line and you wouldn't believe what happened next..." (#1)  We thought we had seen some big mantas in Mexico (like dinner table size) but this one is amazing...

Checking out the quad-fins on this truck (#2).  We're guessing Ed could have broken one of them off with no problem...

Another beautiful morning with 10 miles visibility and a few high clouds.  Winds were light offshore by 3.2kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was a chilly 45.2 and the water is holding at 59.7.  Low tide early at 5:12am +2.1' and high tide was at 11:11am +5.6'.  There is a west swell out of 264º at 3.3' and it was 3' to 4' with the occasional five footer.  Tides were a bit too low initially, but got better as the morning progressed.  Next week the tides should be more favorable and the surf and winds should be consistent...

Clarke got this shot of the Professor (#3) shuffling off toward the pier.  We've had a run of good surf this week and the tides have bee mostly accommodating.  Contest tomorrow featuring RUHS against South.  Runs until 8:30 and then we can see if the surf is still working...

Kawika Ching (#4) shooting the pier on this Go-Pro video from which we snagged a frame.  If you don't follow him on Instagram, it's really a daily surf documentary.  He narrates his travels and go-outs in real-time and occasionally you'll see someone you know come bobbing by...

There WILL be a happy hour this week, but we are awaiting final confirmation from the wagon masters...  TBA
