Non-Event Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Ladies and gentlemen, may we introduce the boys...  (#1)  From L. to R.  "Rasta" Pete Georgianna, John (J.P.) Pesce, Jimmy "Utah" Thomas and Jimmy (Pitcher house) Young.  Right around 200 years of surfing experience.  Not a day goes by in Hermosa when these guys don't have a pulse on the heart of the town...  By the way February is usually the time for Jimmy Young's "Cold Water Classic."  Heats of 15 minutes, no wetsuits allowed...

Clear skies and 20+ miles visibility this morning.  Winds were calm and switched early around 9am.  The sea surface was smooth to rippled.  The air temp was 50 and the water is 60.4.  High tide was at 7:46am +6.2' and low tide follows at 3:00pm -1.2'.  There's a west swell out of 265º at 4.6' and it was 3' to 5' breaking pretty close to shore...

Smoking outsides at the Cove (#2) as seen from the Avenues...

Havana Taxi (#3) gets it's first coat of yellow in the Ohm-ish Lab of Michael and the Professor...

Happy hour this week will be in the Hollywood Riviera at H.T. Grill on the corner of Avenue I and Catalina.  5:30 be there and be happy...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
