New Year's Day Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

From the Pier to the rip (#1) it was a bit of a walled up start to the new year in the "Mosa...  Sapphire had a little more to offer in terms of shape, but things ought to be a little bigger tomorrow.

Mostly clear skies and 20 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 5kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was a January-consistent 48 and the water is 59.9.  Low tide was at 7:29am +2.9' and high tide was at 12:38 +3.9'.  We have a WSW swell at 3.9' and it was 3' to 5' depending on your location...

The big band sound on the Hermosa Plaza last night (#2).  Pretty impressive...

Obviously, candles come in an entire spectrum of scents.  But we have to admit that we were taken by surprise by "Coastal Man." (#3)  Upon ignition it proved to be quite pleasant, unlike many a coastal man of which we've gotten a whiff...  Of course this is what they imagine "coastal man" to smell like in land-locked Rockwall, Texas...
