Same As It Ever Wasn't Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So everybody's coping in a variety of ways...  The Maharishi & Kris, Buck and the Professor (#1) take to the video chat utility and discuss their strategy for dealing with the current viral situation...  Several options utilized the disinfecting qualities of alcohol applied topically and internally...  (DO NOT USE THE SAME SHIT FOR BOTH!)

What does the surf team (#2) do when the waves are not quite up to their standards (which are admittedly low)?  On this morning we broke out the yoga video and had our young flexi-flyers unwind on the beach.  Honestly, they were really good at it...

Got out early this morning and it was partly cloudy with 10 miles visibility.  Rain for this afternoon.  Winds were variable from 3kts offshore to 15kts on in the afternoon.  The sea surface reflected that bluster.  The air was 50.5 and the water is 60.1.  Low tide was late at 11:16am +0.2' and high tide is at 6:37pm +3.2'.  The buoy is reading a SW swell out of 214º at 2.6' and it was 1' to 2' and poor...  If the winds are good tomorrow might have some surfable waves...

This morning at Trader Joe's they were only letting 50 people in the store at a time (#3).  So just like their parking lot they were jammed up at the entrance so they could throw up their hands at the lack of  ___________ (insert whatever you've been looking for and can't find because the hoarders have gone cracker-dog.)  We liked the guy half way in the line covering his face so we couldn't identify him...  He was either embarrassed, had the virus or was more paranoid than everybody else in line...

Up on the top of the hill at Casa Burke (#4).  They just had the entire hill redone.  Some over-enthusiastic gardeners denuded the hill causing a situation that could have lead to a major slide.  Working with the Coastal Commission Solicitor Burke reinforced the hill and planted over 800 native plants to keep things from slipping into the Pacific (no iceplant, that's a South African native).  Right now you can still see the infrastructure (#5) but when the plants take hold this should look pretty verdant...

Discussions regarding Happy Hour are ongoing...
