Wooden Men Iron Women Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Here (#1) we have our representatives checking out this year's Iron Man.  Caitlin, Morgan and Brendan made it down to the event so you didn't have to. How many years has this been going on?  A lot of reverse peristalsis on the books...

This morning there were sunny skies and as the morning carried on it got progressively cloudier.  By the time we hit the water things were cooling down considerably.  Winds were onshore by 3 to 5kts and the sea surface was textured.  The air temp was 64.3º and it got down to 60 before it started up again.  High tide was at 10:51am +3.6' and low tide followed at 3:08pm +2.4'.  We have a SSW swell out of 195º at 3.6' and we'll call the surf 3' and a bit wally...  Could be better wind conditions mañana...

Tomorrow we'll be at Torrance Beach for the annual "South Bay Dozen / Jimmy Miller" lifeguard competitions.  A dozen different events including Dorey Racing will be happening all morning.  Starts at 7:30 for all bronzed athletes in Speedos.  If these events were in the Olympics these men and women would be there!
