Octo-Mom Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Damn, we love the Octo-Mom!  Every day there's something new.  Her boyfriend wants a paternity test, she's channeling Angelina Jolie, Her mother thinks she's irresponsible and her father gets choked up talking about the entire thing.  What drama, pathos, sensation!  Of course the kids in the photos don't ALL belong to the Octo-mom (but they could.)  No - these are Mrs. Bogart's pupils and a fine bunch of half-pint matriculators they are.  The Professor was invited to read to the budding students and he regaled them with the last two year's worth of surf reports.  The only question they had was:  "Is Danger Boy a real person?"  "Yes, yes kiddies.  And be very afraid..."  The photos are before and after the Professor read the reports..  Guess which is which.

A bit of sprinklation this morning as a storm system moves into the Southland.  We have 12 miles visibility and cloudy sometimes rainy skies.  Winds are offshore by 3.9kts and the sea surface is glassy.  The air temperature is 52.8° and the water is 56.8°.  Low tide is at 7:07am +0.6' and high tide will be at 1:15pm +2.6'.  We've latched on to a new buoy and we're hoping it's going to give us a little more relevant data.  Buoy #46221 is directly west of Torrance Beach and it's telling us that we have a swell out of 208° at 3.0'.  The resulting surf is around 2.0' and we notice that it's building!  Yippee!

Before we went on our reading expedition Sully stopped by and got us to go over to his friend Frank's new restaurant on PCH and Normadie.  It's called Maricela's Bionicos y Antojitos.  We had the breakfast torta to start us on our way and it was delicious.  They use the feshest ingrediments and their Bionico is wildly delicious.  It includes:  Cantaloupe, papaya, mango, apple, banana, strawberry, house yogurt, granola, coconut and raisins.  It's so healthy that the Professor and Sully ambled by Kaiser and seven people got out of their beds and walked for the first time in weeks!  It's located on the SW corner of Normandie and PCH (1202 PCH, Harbor City) and it's well worth the drive.

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
 The Professor!!
