Walk Through Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Late report today!  A lot of stuff going on out there.  Let's take a look at the numbers...

This morning we were greeted with clear but hazy skies and later in the morning the fog came oozing through.  At the checkout we had 10 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 5.7kts and the sea surface was glassy.  The air temperature was 52.9°and the water has warmed up to a much nicer 58.1°.  During the day it actually got up to 60°!  So you know that sooner or later we'll have the foggies... yuk!  High tide was an early 2:30am +4.2' and low tide was at 11:29am +0.7'.  The buoy was reading a 3.0' swell out of 232° and we're calling the waves 2' to 3'.  We surfed Tres Palmas again this morning and there are definitely some possibilities.  Check it in the morning!

Our photo today is a closeup of the famous Idaho "Dammit" sushi.  The salmon eggs are marinated in Tabasco sauce and there is a warm reminder after every bite.  Mixed with a bit of wasabi, it makes for a delicious, spicy alternative to the rather bland California roll ingredients.  We say, "Next time you're in Boise, have some sushi, Dammit!"

On a serious note, we'd like to send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mary Lenehan.  Mary struggled for a year fighting the cancer which finally took her life.  She was a stoic, marvelous woman and was always kind and generous.  The church, full of those who's lives she had touched, was a testimony to her life and good work.  We saw many Lost Boys in attendance and to their credit, they behaved themselves.  Mostly.  Danger Boy - put down the skewers...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it...."
