Atypical Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Yep, it's an atypical Tuesday here in the Southland. Let's look at the surf and see what our next move should be...
Under clear skies we have 17miles visibility with a bit of low haze. Winds are offshore by 5.7kts and the sea surface is glassy. The air temperature is 58.3f and the water is 59.4f. High tide is at 5:59am +6.0' and low tide will be at 1:13pm -0.3', setting us up for a week of low-low tides. The buoy says 3.3' and the morning surf is right about there, with some larger outsides and some high tide insides that go right to the sand. The window for attack this morning was between 8:30am and 10. We watched the Coach and the Professor snag a few little ones, but they were few and far between.
A couple of weeks ago the Professor stopped by this little place on 11th St. near the pier in Hermosa. He perused the menu and liked what he saw. When Corey came into town they decided to give it a try and discovered it was a little gem. It's called "Brothers" and it's at 24 11th St. in Hermosa. You can build your own burrito or you can get all the same ingrediments in a bowl on a bed of brown rice, potatoes or black beans. The custom made burritos or bowls start at 3.95 and you add .75 for each meat and .25 for each veggie or cheese. The bottom line is that with a cup of coffee you can have a delicious, healthful and filling breakfast for about $6. Try that at Joe's or one of the other eateries. They also have a bunch of breakfast choices so if you don't feel creative you can pick a stock choice. We had the "T.C.A. Bowl" which is egg, avocado, ground turkey, and cheddar cheese over a bed of brown rice. They also have a choice of 4 salsas (we had pico de gallo) and you can mix and match. The crew is friendly and happy to see you and definitely made us feel like we wanted to go back. Try it out and let us know what you think! We guess you might want to start surfing Hermosa more often...
