Mescalero Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

C
ounting the days down to Christmas and it looks like you've got 17 of them before abject panic sets in.  Don't worry, you'll think of something.  Our attached photo is something the Professor took this morning while reminiscing about all of the Tonka trucks that he and Boomfwappa must've buried over the years.  There's just something about heavy equipment...

7miles visibility this morning under partly cloudy skies.  Looks as though there are some heavier clouds on the horizon coming this way.  Winds are currently offshore by 5.2kts from the SSE blowing back the waves very nicely.  The sea surface is glassy.  The air temperature is 58.1f and the water is 59.5f but felt a bit warmer than that.  High tide is at 5:23am +5.4' and low tide will be at 12:28pm +0.5'.  The buoy is reading 4.3' and we're calling the waves 3' to 4'.  We caught some fun ones between Topaz and Knob Hill just a little north of the VB court.

Friday night found us at El Torito on the Redondo Pierito eating burritos, tostitos and mosquitoes.  Malucca and Hottie made it from their respective work stations, north and south and met here in the middle.  Mo, Kasey and Hayden made it while Bob the Builder was stuck in Hemit trying to tow his orange Bronco back to civilization.  Paver and Danger Girl both made the scene, while Danger Boy went to the hockey game.  TJ and Zoe came on down, despite their busy schedules.  TJ is actually in Louisiana today and couldn't hit the surf.   LoLa and the Professor rounded out the crowd and they rode their bikes to Manhattan after dinner to work off all of those 'itos.  Hottie entertained a group at the Professor's while he cooked all manner of sausages, both foreign and domestic.  These went quite well with some beanage he had cooked up earlier in the day and some margaritas he processed on the Frozen Concoction Maker (FCM.)  Unlike last time when the results were really questionable, he hit on the notion of  freezing the mix and sending that through the FCM.  Things turned out stellar and quite a few folks stayed in bed a while longer on Sunday morning.

BMHS has a meet on Tuesday morning at Torrance Beach and we'll be there following the action and checking to see if things are worth surfing after the contest.  Join us and catch a few before starting your day!
