Farewell Betty Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Yesterday, Betty Page passed on to the great beyond at the ripe old age of 85. She said, "I want to be remembered as the woman who changed people's perspectives concerning nudity in its natural form." We'll be remembering that when we re-hang our commemorative Betty-in-Bondage poster...

Partly cloudy this morning with 15miles visibility. Winds are offshore by 5.0kts and the sea surface is glassy. The air temp is 57.7℉ and the water is 62.6℉.. High tide is at 8:06am +7.0' and low tide will be at 3:30pm -1.7'. The buoy claims that the swell is 2.3', but it looks flat to us here on the beach.

Boomfwappa weighs in on paradise and inexpensive Mexican food:
Boomfwappa says: What another beautiful day in Paradise? Boomfwappa was in Paradise once.....he didn't like it! That's what Boomfwappa says....and look you got up and went to another CHEAP Mexican restaurant!! Is there any justice!! (Yes, there is, but at this time of year we're more interested in mercy...)

We wanted to remind all of our readers that Redondo Union High is having an alumni surf contest on December 20th at the Hermosa Beach Pier. Sign-ups are at 7am and the first heat hits the water at 7:30. We talked to Coach Les Congliere this morning and they're anticipating quite a few entrants. You will be able to say, "Went there, surfed, got the T-shirt."

A fair amount of holiday hoopla going on this weekend, starting with Danger Boy and GiGi's concert at St. Lawrence this evening at 7:30pm. Tomorrow night is the Annual King Harbor Boat Parade and Sunday Manhattan Beach has their Winter Fireworks Celebration. Then there's all of your holiday office parties, gift exchanges and general good will. If there were just a few waves - YOU LISTENING SANTA?

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
The Professor!!
