Face-Off Friday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
Just like in the leper hockey game, there was a face-off in the corner. Both corners as a matter of fact. Yep, Uncle Bug took us to the hockey game last night and we luxuriated in his pavilion seats and ordered popcorn and all kinds of stuff without ever having to move. Then he took us to the Lexus room and we smoked cigars and hobnobbed with the beautiful people. If that wasn't enough, one of the beautiful people came up to the Professor and said, "Say don't you surf?"
Prof.: (Flattered) Why, yes...
BP: Do you coach one of the surf teams in the South Bay Surf League?
Prof.: Yes, I do...
BP: Are you the Coach?!
Prof.: (Sigh) No, I'm the Professor!
Beautiful person walks away...
It really looks a lot like spring out there, even though winter's got another day to go. Hazy sun this morning with 10 miles visibility. Wind was out of the WSW this morning by 1.9kts and the sea surface was smooth. Unfortunately, that didn't last very long, with the on-shore flow starting right about 9am. The air temp was 52.9° and the water is 58.5°. Low tide was at 6:07am +0.3' and high tide will follow at 12:13pm +3.3'. The buoy is still reading a 3.6' swell but it's shifted from 248°WSW to 204°SSW. That was just enough to throw things off a bit, so today we had 3' to 4' waves and they were a bit muddled from the wind. Despite the conditions we found TJ, Danger Boy and the Professor out at First Dip Knob Hill trying to work some magic. It wasn't deluxe, but it was fun being out with your buds on a pleasant almost-spring morning.

(Good observation Big Daddy, but that wasn't the reason. Apparently, Boomfwappa has other fish to fry and he won't be back at Keegan's until the middle of April. He says that he doesn't want to get that fishy-smell on his high hat. Quite understandable... Ed.)
Our sources tell us that there will be a Happy Hour meeting of the Lost Boys Ways & Means Committee tonight at El Torito (on the RB Pier) at 5:30pm. If you get this e-mail or have the ways and the means, join the group in the bar. It is rumored that several of the attendees will be riding their velocipedes. After the meeting they will be riding to the MB pier and then coffee at SBuck's in HB. Be there or be a rhombus...
