Wave Meister Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A
nother beautiful summer's day!  Part of the reason for that is that it's not summer yet and we still have great weather.

So it's sunny, a bit hazy and warm and we have 22 miles visibility.  We took a photo of the haze so you can get a better idea about what we're talking about.  There's the blue ocean, the light blue sky and the brown layer of smog and haze in between.  Always kinda gags you when you think, that as soon as the wind changes, all of that gunk will float back and we'll have to breathe it until it heads off to Riverside and nestles against the hills.  But it was offshore this morning by 7.4kts and the sea surface was glassy to smooth.  The air temperature at checkout was 52.4° and the water is 57.4°.  High tide is at 9:43am +4.9' and low tide will be at 3:54pm +0.2'.  The buoy is reading a 3.9' swell out of 270° west and we're calling it 4' to 5' with fair to good shape.  This morning's picks were Torrance and Hermosa.  They seemed to handle the rising tide the best and the winds were cooperating until almost 11am.

Who are all of those folks at Kincaid's for the Friday afternoon happy hour?  Besides Xena and the Dangers, Alec's parents and grandmother (Bill, Bonnie and Angela) joined the crew.  Guest appearances by Jim McGarry and Diane Smith (NOT together) made the evening even more entertaining...

Reprising their performance Gidget and Mike McGarry will be at Di Piazza's tonight in the LBZ.  Pizza and ice cold PBR are the recommended fare and you can vote for your favorite group enthusiastically and often...
