Lost Boys & Co...
You know how it is... One minute you're riding your bike down the Strand in Hermosa Beach and the next you're at the American Cinematheque Awards at the Beverly Hilton. This year they were honoring Matt Damon. So we're standing near the bar and the waiter comes over and we start up a conversation. Turns out he's also a beekeeper and we have a fascinating conversation about hymenoptera. The Professor asks him who his favorite Hollywood star is. He says, "Clint Eastwood, because he treats everyone the same!" Well, it ends up that this waiter knows everyone and when we wander into the next room he takes LoLa over and proceeds to snap her pic with Matt Damon, who is now "Matty" and Clint Eastwood, with whom she shared an intimate little conversation and who stared at her for the rest of the evening. In all fairness, the Professor took the shot of her and Robin Williams. Tomorrow we'll see with whom the Professor managed to pose...
Mostly sunny this morning, with a few high clouds puttering around. Winds at checkout time were offshore from the NE by 3.2kts and the sea surface was smooth with a slight bump. The air temp was 59.2° and the water was a little cooler at 58.6°. High tide was at 9:26am 5.3' and the tide is low at 3:27pm -0.2'. The moon is full tonight so get ready for all the extra excitement that phenomena tends to elicit. The buoy is reading a west swell out of 263° by 3' and we're calling the waves a smallish 2' to 3'. We played at Hermosa this morning and got some fun little ones next to the pier. Supposed to be bigger tomorrow, but the weather's also supposed to change. You can stay in bed, we'll look outside for you...
