Dammit! HELLO! This is SUPPOSED to be SUMMER for cry'n out loud! Cloudy skies drizzling through the overcast. Wipers a must and turn on the headlights too. The air temperature at checkout was a balmy 58.6° and the water wasn't warm at 63.7°, even though the Hermosa Pier Patrol has the posted temp at 65° - a myth we say! High tide at 6:48am +2.8' and low tide will be at 10:34am +2.4' with a whopping .4' tidal differential. The 46221 buoy is reading a SSW out of 199° true at 3.6', but none of that is hitting the south South Bay, so we're calling it 1' to 2' and poor to dismal... Tomorrow? Maybe hail and sleet...
This is a bench. Not just any bench. Nope, this bench is from the Hynes Portuguese Hall. We have it because they swapped the benches for chairs. This has been the single most contentious issue in the last 75 years of the organization. People are not speaking to each other because of this issue. Johnny Vieira, stepped down as kitchen boss, Little Charlie now eats standing up and the Professor won't talk to Tia Alice's relatives (all chair people.) This particular bench is 84 years old and still strong and accommodating. Vamos Adiente...
