Lost Boys & Co...

Hey, look at this crowd outside the Artesia Portuguese Hall.  They're not looking real happy are they - guess not, Portugal lost to arch rival Spain in the final 16 of the World Cup.  But wait, there are a couple of smiling faces!  Looks like Birdie and Janine are enjoying a couple of linguiça sanwiçhes.  You know that'll cheer you up, even after a losing game...

Despite the gray morning it turned out to be a nice day.  7 miles visibility at go out with heavy overcast.  Calm winds, turning onshore fairly early leaving the surface with a pretty standard tack.  The air temp was 61.8° and the water dropped a bit to 63.5° with the oncoming swell pushing up some deeper water.  Low tide at 7:09am +0.4' and high tide will follow at 1:57pm +4.1'.  The buoy was reading a 3.9' swell out of the SSW at 208°.  Some fine waves running between 3' and 5' with some fast, thick outsides at Topaz.  Already the buoy has jumped almost another foot this evening and we're thinking there might be some pretty good waves in the morning!  Check it out to start your 4th of July weekend early!

Remember the Professor is hosting his annual linguiça feed and meeting of the tribe.  We used to say "meeting of the tribes," but hey, really...  it's just one big tribe and face it - you're in it...  Sunday, July 4th.  5pm until the tiki torches ignite and the fireworks light the night on fire.

Finally, instead of writing a report yesterday, Boomfwappa and the Professor hied themselves up to Modesto to bring down a load of furniture from the northern outpost of the Lankford family.  This is passing through Tipton at 85mph.  Since Tipton has not much in the way of municipal revenue they lease out space on the water tower to the cell phone and cable folks.  Never mind you can hardly read Tipton anymore...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
