Penguins used to be our sheep as well, but now they are replacing most of the local birds since it's so #*$@%'n cold. 5 miles visibility under overcast, cloudy, drizzling skies. Winds are already onshore by 3.2kts and the sea surface is sporting a generous tack. The air temp was 60.1° at checkout and the water was likewise chilly at 63.1°. High tide is at 8:44am +3.3' and low tide will follow at 12:39pm +2.5'. The 46221 buoy is reading a SSW swell out of 192° true at 2.6' and we're seeing half of that on the beach with the waves surging at about 1'. Not a good morning for surf, but a great morning for a little brekky at Brothers! Try the oatmeal for a stick-to-your-ribs start on the day. Or, wear a shirt and let it stick to your shirt and then wash it...
HEY! Boomfwappa and Flashbak are playing at the street fair in Old Torrance on Saturday afternoon July 10th. The music starts at 5:30pm and goes until 8:30pm. There's festival seating (meaning: bring your beach chair) and we assume that you can either bring your own viands or buy something to gnaw on there. It's down by the Buffalo Fire Dept. between there and the Torrance Bakery. Dancing optional, but encouraged...
