Winging It Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Another fabulous day in Paradise! Here we are at Topaz Bay between sets - no... wait... oh yeah, that's Aruba! Well, Topaz looks a lot like Aruba today. If you don't believe us go down and take a look... There's just no Santa Monica in the distance...
On the beach we have 15 miles visibility under those Arubian blue skies, with just a bit of marine haze. Winds out of the SW by 3.7kts, leaving a light tack on the sea surface. Air temperature is 62.3° and the water is 58.1° at the buoy and probably closer to 63° in the surfline. Low low tide at 5:59am -1.0' and high tide will be at 12:30pm +4.8'. The ever popular 46221 buoy is reading a W swell out of 250°, blending into a bit of south off the jetty at 3.6'. All of this is conspiring to create some nice waves in the 3' to 4' range, with good shape and consistency.
We surfed Sappharua this morning and had a 2+ hour session that included 250 Junior Guards. The Professor thought it was kinda funny when the kids would jump off the rocks (they won't let them jump off the Baywatch any longer, since that kid got run over in the OC) swim over and say stuff like, "Hey Professor! Don't you wish you were at Saladitas right now?" It turned out it was Brian Murphy who was in charge of the lemming-like charge off the rocks. So the Professor paddled over and yelled at the remaining 100 kids lined up on the rocks "Okay Junior Guards! It's now time to turn on your cruel masters! Cast them into the water and free yourself from this tyranny. Individually you are not strong, but together you can defeat them!" They just stood there like sheep and continued to jump off the line-up rock...
