Myoneural Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Here we have Maleko and Paver making their way down to the surf at Avenue A.  Maleko has that look of resignation that comes with taking your father out to challenge the surf.  Paver is sporting a look that suggests casual optimism.  We're thinking they had a good time!

Meanwhile this morning, it's turned out to be gray and heavy in the overcast department.  10 miles visibility at the most.  Winds are out of the SSW by 3.9kts and the sea surface is sporting a light tack.  The air temperature is 61.5° and the water is a disappointing 63.5° (We saw Vicki Gomez and her swimming cohorts this morning and they noticeably saddened when they heard the water temp.)  Low tide at 9:34am +2.1' and high tide at 4:52pm +4.9'.  Lows and highs run into each other this week, so not much tidal variation for the next few days.  The 46221 buoy is reading a SSW swell out of 194° at 4.3'.  The main energy of the swell is missing us, so from the avenues to the rocks, it's a small 2' to 3'.  Manhattan and up the northern end of the bay is starting to work and we saw some shoulder high waves there.  Not great shape, but a lot bigger...

Some snaps from the 4th coming up, but first - the scene of the crime!
